Quilt Rack Plans

Quilt Display - Quilt Racks - Quilt Hangers - Quilt Rack Plans

Quilt racks are a fantastic way of displaying your handiwork in an attractive manner. Unlike quilt hangers, you do not need to make any alterations to the room in order to display your quilts using a quilt rack.

Their convenient size and attractive appearance makes quilt racks perfect, especially if you do not wish to drill holes in your walls or if you want to be able to move your quilts and display them in another room.

Make your own quilt rack

While it is usually possible to purchase ready-made quilt racks, some people prefer the challenge of making their own. By making your own quilt rack you get to choose the exact wood used in its construction and can ensure that it will match the décor in the rest of your house.

If you are already skilled and experienced at woodworking you may find it straightforward to design your own quilt rack from scratch. However, for the rest of us who are not expert carpenters (i.e. most people!) it is usually far easier to find an established set of plans that you like and simply follow the directions. At least this way there is a chance that the quilt rack will end up looking remotely like you expected it to!

Sources of quilt rack plans

Occasionally you may come across a set of plans for a quilt rack in a home crafts magazine. These are normally a good starting point as they are generally intended for people of all skill levels and usually come with photos and step-by-step instructions.

Better Homes and Garden magazine publishes a number of quilt rack plans that you can download instantly and print at home. You can find links to each of these below:
